Feel the Force!…

Barbara, Wayne Dyer, Rhonda Byrne, Steve Pavlina and others have all put forth the idea that I am reaping misery because I have sown the seeds by my thinking. I heard them all and yet the negative thoughts were still stuck in my head.  I believe that the “dead end job” I mentioned earlier had a lot to do with my thinking.  I felt trapped in a position that I knew I could rise above.  I felt as though I was better than the lot I had been “given” in life.  I see now that it was the lot I had chosen. I have worked a week at my new job and I can see many things that were hidden to me earlier.  It took a new job and the Power of the Force to get it in my head that my thoughts and attitude are setting me up for more misery.  I watched Return of the Jedi for the billionth time and realized wisdom of one old Jedi Masters. Yoda is wise beyond his 900+ years.  Here are a few thoughts that Yoda has put forth and how they impact my life.

“Try not. Do or do not, there is no try.

There is no better advice to give an underachiever and to everyone afraid to take a chance.  It urges us to make things happen.

“Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will.”

The slide down is a quick one once we get wrapped up in bad thoughts in our heads. The Dark Side of thoughts are very powerful.  When we allow the “dark path” into our lives, more and more negative thoughts develop in our minds.  Soon thereafter the negative field around us is so strong that the Light Side has no chance of manifesting good in our lives.

“Always in motion is the future.”

We can’t stop the future from coming, but we can make the future what we want by using what some call Karma, The Law of Attraction, or The Force.  We must remember that the future is always manifesting our energy flow into our “now”.  What we think, how we act, and how we treat others all play a huge part in our future.

[Luke:] “I can’t believe it.” [Yoda:] “That is why you fail.”

You must believe that success is possible.  If you expect to fail, then you will.  I once told the owner of the company at my old job that we were set up to fail there.  I was right.  The attitude from top to bottom was miserable.  Management didn’t believe in the employees and vice versa.  The tough times that have come to them are what they believed would happen.

“You will find only what you bring in.”

If you bring love into your life, you will find love.  If you bring joy to others, happiness will find you.  This is also true for negative feelings and hurtful actions.  All you find in life, you have actually brought to it.  I intend on bringing joy, happiness, love and respect into my life.  To find these things, I must live these things.

I feel totally liberated and ready to manifest the life I want.  I am thankful for all the wonderful people that have touched my life thus far.  I hope my negativity hasn’t effected them or brought them pain.  I know that I have been arrogant at times, and just plain old grumpy.  I am sorry for this, but more importantly, I realize the mistakes of my past.  I see the value of everyone and now can appreciate that all people are trying to live life for the first time.  We will all make mistakes, and try our best.  Much of the time people are misguided.  When I encounter someone that has a negative attitude now, I will appreciate their perspective and know that they are doing the best they know how to do.  The positive vibe that I will send out should help to lighten their heart.  It does not mean that I think I am better than them.  The only person that I am better than is the Brian of the past.  It just means that I can see things again, and I can feel the Force.

May the Force be with You…

  • I love that you found all this from Star Wars. Another good quote is, “Anger, fear, aggression; the dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight.”
Often it’s the things that come easily that are the worst for us (candy is MUCH easier to eat than going through the whole process of making a meal, for example). The things we work for are usually worth more to us in the end.

  • Yoda is very wise, isn’t he. My favorite Yoda quote is – “Try not. Do or do not, there is no try.“. This says a lot to just getting out there and doing something. Even if we fail, we have done something, and can learn and move on from it. And I love the way he words his phrases.

You’re well on your way to getting where you want to be Brian. Your attitude and enthusiasm are evident in your writing – and they will serve you well in your journey…
