September 11, 2001…

It is now seven years since that infamous day. It is no surprise that the feelings of that day still visit me every September 11. I am sure that most everyone has memories rush back to them on this day. I hope that we never forget the the events of that day and all the lives that changed forever in just a few minutes. Every year the observation seems to get smaller and smaller. I realize that we need to move on, but it is also important to pay homage to those who lost their lives; whether at work, on a plane, responding to an emergency, or sent off to war. Every year I read the names of those whom died on September 11, 2001. Today was no different. Today I still cried inside. Please take time today to reflect on those whose lives changed. Let’s not let the weight of that day be forgotten.

Please take time every day to love and appreciate the people in your life. You never know what tomorrow brings.

  • Unfortunately, the way that our adminstration followed up on 9-11 on the world stage I think has made it harder for us to assimilate the events of that day. We began with almost the whole world on our side and nothing to be ashamed of.

I’ve made a post out of material I’d written down on 9-12-01. Despite the horror of 9-11, the way that ordinary Americans responded highlights the kind of wonderful and even heroic qualities that average citizens have and that it sure would be nice to find in elected officials.

  • You are right. We have lost some of the support from other nations. We will continue to remember.
